Welcome to the FWSBOA where the focus is ton the education and mentoring of basketball officials.

Mission statement

The FWSBOA is an IHSA recognized association for basketball officials in the far west suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The objective of the FWSBOA is to develop and become a skilled group of quality basketball officials, achieved through proper and continuous study, training and practice.

Membership consists of 30 members who primarily reside in the far western suburbs of Chicago.

While membership consists of Grade School, Jr. High, High School and College basketball officials – our focus is on High School basketball officiating.  We have an even mix of boys and girls officials with many members officiating both boys and girls games.  Experience levels of members range from officials who have worked the State Finals to officials just starting out in their officiating careers.

If you are looking to join an association for the purpose of filling out your officiating schedule, this is not going to be the association for you.  Games can be secured through the association, but you will have to reach out on your own to assignors to fill out your schedule.  Members will assist you in contacting the assignors.

We normally meet four to six times a year with meetings beginning prior to the start of the season.  The first meeting is usually in early October and annual dues are currently $35.

If you wish to learn more about the FWSBOA, browse the pages of the website and feel free to join us at one of the meetings to see for yourself if the FWSBOA is a good fit for you.

We look forward to assisting in your development and officiating career.
